Rabies Prophylaxis for Barangay Dog Catchers

This immersion, the Community Health Program on High Prevalence of Unvaccinated Dogs and Cats was able to send a letter addressed to Dr. Dulce Miravite, Zamboanga City’s City Health Officer and acquire 6 doses of Anti-Rabies vaccines to the dog catchers and vaccinators. For this to be administered, the team coordinated with the Rural Health Unit as headed by Dr. Maita Ladeza to spearhead the administration of the the vaccines. The dog & cat catchers and vaccinators then received a Rabies Prophylaxis Card. To assure the continuation of the mass dog vaccination held last year, the team also sent a letter addressed to the provincial veterinarian for the provision of vaccines for dogs and cats and subsequently, a letter was also sent to the office of the municipality’s agriculturist for the training of these dog catchers and vaccinators.
