Advancing towards the goal of safe and potable water for all, during this January 2020 immersion we have established the water resources to be rehabilitated. With the help of the Municipal Engineer and his office we were able to reassess springboxes built by previous researchers and scout for potential water sources yet to be improved. It was upon our ocular survey of these sites that we also went over the ongoing action and future plans regarding the barangay’s water system. The barangay has been working their way to get the water connection to Puroks 2-6 installed as soon as possible. Meanwhile, for Purok 1, the barangay plans to improve a gravity spring at the outskirts of Lawaan for water supply to this Purok. The project should be underway in the council’s first quarter of service. The overall effort of the council to improve and protect other identified water sources, despite the ongoing project on the quarry as a water source for the majority of the barangay, proves to be definitive of their genuine service to the entirety of the community. The medical researchers as well are ferverently supporting their plans on the barangay water system.
